he bond market is by far the largest securities market in the world,1providing investors with virtually limitless investment options. Many investors are familiar with aspects of the market, but as the number of new products grows, even a bond expert is challenged to keep pace. While we spend a great deal of time discussing economic forecasts and how those forecasts may affect unique sectors of the bond market, we have yet to answer the most basic question: What is a bond?
Really clean and detailed overview. PIMCO Bonds - Everything You Need to Know About Bonds |

When I think of diving, I think of fun days, relaxing on the beach, cold beers, and good times. Of course, there are those who scuba dive for a living. Sometimes I think this might be a good time, too (divemasters, underwater videographers, even search and rescue divers). But today I stumbled on an article about, in my opinion, the least appealing scuba-diving-related job in the world: diving in a nuclear reactor.
I concur. Never thought about it. Have thought about commercial diving, but never quite in conditions like this. "Nuclear divers" often go into the cooling tanks when reactors have a problem. The thing is, when reactors have a problem, the last place anybody wants to be is inside a cooling tank.

Public health officials like Ms. Ehresmann, who herself has a son with autism, have been trying for years to convince parents like Ms. Rupp that there is no link between thimerosal - a mercury-containing preservative once used routinely in vaccines - and autism. They have failed. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the Institute of Medicine, the World Health Organization and the American Academy of Pediatrics have all largely dismissed the notion that thimerosal causes or contributes to autism. Five major studies have found no link.

BRAIN CANDY by MALCOLM GLADWELL Is pop culture dumbing us down or smartening us up?
Now, if we could find the economic assessment by Steven Levitt (Freakonomics) on the influences found in a quick review by Malcolm Gladwell (Blink) of Steven Johnson's Everything Bad is Good for You, the cycle would be complete... The New Yorker: The Critics: Books |

CENSORED BY US GOVERNMENT 18 USC 2257 Yes, that is correct. The wonderful things that used to be here, the very funny things that you want to read, have been made retroactively illegal by the US government, in a side-handed attack on the pornography industry. We might mention that the material here isn't even pornography as you normally think of it -- this site is just adult humor, in essay format, with some illustrations. The government is mandating that we meet certain bookkeeping requirements, ones impossible to meet for this site. Never mind that those requirements do not actually gain the public anything. This is the strongest attack on free speech since the passage of the CDA, and oddly, the media seems to have hardly noticed. The penalty for not abiding by these bookkeeping requirements is five years prison. The regulations were promulgated by Alberto Gonzales, US Attorney General appointed by George Bush. If you voted for Bush, this is your fault. If you think this country is free, you are sadly mistaken. No nation has freedom when it is run by religious zealots. Regulations effective 24 June 2005.

"Great movie quotes become part of our cultural vocabulary. When you consider that any phrase from American film is eligible, you realize this is our most subjective topic to date. We expect nothing less than a war of words as we reignite interest in classic American movies."
An interesting scattering of great quotes. I have seen the vast majority of these films, and yes, the lines stay with you. Why does it feel dirty to read the ones with Tom Cruise's voice? He didn't have many of them, but he did have some. AFI's 100 YEARS...100 MOVIE QUOTES |

All remaining decisions of the Supreme Court's current Term will be announced on Monday, the Court's public information office said on Thursday. Six cases remain to be decided, unless, by chance, some are put over for reargument in the Term starting Oct. 3. That does not appear likely at this point.

Land of OpportuniTV is Entourage told from the point-of-view of Jeremy Priven's character -- except our 'SuperAgent Ari' is the early favorite to be the next Bill Gates. Land will be set at The Opportunity Services Group (OSG), a a startup provider of customized education and career services (CECS).
It is a TV show pitch, it is a business plan, it is a startup launching by television show, it is ... wtf. Slick, at least. Welcome to LandOf.OpportuniTV.com |
