Swapping a "D" for an "R" last night, Fox News and "The O'Reilly Factor" labeled disgraced pedophile Congressman Mark Foley, longtime Republican, as a Democrat.
Brit Hume says "The accusation that Fox News is on the right-wing bandwagon comes mostly from those who don't watch the channel." I wonder why. Eat The Press | |

House Republicans just voted to slash funding for NPR and PBS this year--and eliminate funding altogether in two years. We stopped them last year. We can stop them again. Sign our petition to Congress opposing these massive cuts to public broadcasting.
NPR is the only news on the radio that isn't preoccupied with explaining to me why the other side of the political spectrum sucks. Some googling on the issue seems to say that the Repbulicans are backing off of this after getting trounced last year. Support for CPB runs against the grain of my libertarian instincts, but you show me commerical radio programming that isn't stupid and I'll stop supporting federal funding for CPB. Last year, dozens of pastafarians around the world helped Spread the Word of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, by carving his likeness into pumpkins. This year we expect even more pumpkin-propaganda, not only because of exponential growth of the world's most logical religion, but because I'm offering a cash prize of $500 for the best FSM pumpkin.

A brilliant idea is neither necessary nor sufficient for a successful business, although all else being equal it can't hurt. Microsoft is probably the canonical example of a successful business, and it has never had a single brilliant idea in its entire history.

Name this quote: "I shall give a propagandist reason for starting the war, no matter whether it is plausible or not. The victor will not be asked afterwards whether he told the truth or not. When starting and waging war it is not right that matters, but victory."

NASA said it hopes to launch space shuttle Discovery on its next mission on Dec. 7, a week earlier than previously planned. If the liftoff happens then, it would take place at 9:38 p.m. ET, the first nighttime launching of a shuttle since the Columbia disaster in 2003.
