I've posted a very significant update to the site, but unfortunately, its one of those things where, if I've done my job properly, you won't be able to tell. I've made some significant changes to the Database to aid scalability. Three changes you will see: 1. The main site now updates daily. 2. Thread links display the number of posts. 3. When you reply it tells you who its forwarding the reply to. As always, tell me if you have any troubles... |

] "Ever leave your coffee cup behind, lick an envelope, ] squash a cigarette into an ashtray, or toss out a wad of ] gum? If so, a sample of your DNA could be nestled right ] now in a plastic tube on a shelf at a company like ] Genelex in Redmond, Wash." This is worrysome article. A bunch of companies have been keeping databases of samples of DNA they have received for various reasons. Charges that the information is being misused have been levied. The response is that we ought to store everyone's DNA so there is enough political pressure to make sure that the information is used properly. Yeah, sure... This is literally the wolf asking permission to guard the hen house. U.S. News: As DNA banks quietly multiply, who is guarding the safe? (12/2/02) |
