There is an excellent article in this month's First Monday about using reputation systems to limit the effects of vandalism on public wikis like Wikipedia.

The Puppy Smoothies article has been Slashdotted. Unfortunately, I don't think many of the commentators have RTFAed but there are some interesting perspectives in here nonetheless.
