All hail our fearless leader! You must get through him before you can come for us, in the hills, where we are well fortified.
Yes, YES! Decius will PROTECT US FROM TEH EVIL SPACE MONSTERS!!! RE: Is the search for aliens such a good idea? |

I've always expressed disdain for SETI@home, but this is even more useless, though perhaps less wasteful: Cosmic Connexion, a firm based near Cape Canaveral in Florida, invites you to e-mail your messages to them and they will then beam them, free, into space and "introduce you to extraterrestrials."
Today MySpace, tomorrow MyUniverse. Just imagine the time sink of approving all those friend requests ...
Kewl!!! I'm sending one... "Hi, My name is Decius, and I am the ruler of the third planet encircling our sun. Computer Snafu Snarls United Airlines, Nearly 300 Of Wednesday's Flights Were Cancelled Or Delayed - CBS News |

Spokeswoman Robin Urbanski said the airline did not know the cause of the problem, which affected the systems United uses to dispatch flights for departure. .... ....United said about 268 domestic and international flights were delayed for an average of one and a half hours and 24 domestic flights were canceled. No international flights were canceled, Urbanski said.
Just another reason we need backup processes that do NOT rely on computerized systems. Have we learned nothing in the past 20 years? How much money did the outage cost the struggling airline? Come on people, think. Computer Snafu Snarls United Airlines, Nearly 300 Of Wednesday's Flights Were Cancelled Or Delayed - CBS News |

Beginning to plan for adaptation to such a cool period, one which may continue well beyond one 11-year cycle, as did the Little Ice Age, should be a priority for governments. It is global cooling, not warming, that is the major climate threat to the world, especially Canada. As a country at the northern limit to agriculture in the world, it would take very little cooling to destroy much of our food crops, while a warming would only require that we adopt farming techniques practiced to the south of us.
The earth is, in fact, way overdue for an ice age... So perhaps we should actually increase greenhouse gas emmisions, killing the ozone layer, and thus trapping heat during the long, long solar winter that approaches.
Fuck all that. Start digging and build underground.

Dome. It worked in Logan's Run didn't it?
Nah, deeper, like 3 to 4 hundred feet. stable temperatures, and thermal heating in some areas... and besides, we could put heat exchangers on the surface, and heat up the underground... Take a 3' diameter bundle of fiber optic, and bury it straight down, to transfer sunlight into the dark areas. sounds great to me... RE: Read the Sunspots |

Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts. As you know, S.1105 was introduced in the Senate on April 12, 2007. This bill has been referred to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary. If S. 1105 should come before the Senate for a vote, I will not support it. Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me over the next six years. Sincerely, Bob Corker United States Senator
Seems to me that these 2 day a week, piles of puke dont have the best interests our country in mind. Looks like another person who supports violence and inequality, FYI Republican Party...
Sorry, I'm not a republican, but having just finished reading the text of the proposed law, doesn't really do anything to help, but would instead enable lawyers to continue to make new defenses for "perceived" offenses under the law. I actually agree that this law is poorly written, and should NOT be passed. Read it for yourself here: http://thomas.loc.gov/home/gpoxmlc110/h1592_rfs.xml We don't need more laws for hate crimes, we need the death penalty back. If you kill someone, REGARDLESS of the reason, you should die too, and do it with Texas's motto, with an express lane. If you think about murder, what part of it isn't a hate crime? We already have this covered, no? RE: Corker FUD on Matthew Shepard Act... |

Well, ok then. I'm making my own Drivers 10 Commandments. And having such a high opinion of myself, I expect others to follow them... 1) Thou shalt get the fuck out of the way. 2) Thou shalt not stay in the left lane when there is open space in the right lane. 3) Thou shalt always leave enough space on ones' right to get by when making a left at an intersection. 4) Thou shalt not violate the sanctity of others lanes. 5) Thou shalt use turn signals. 6) Thou shalt not start driving like an idiot the second a rain drop or snow flake falls. 7) Thou shalt respect the velocity preferences of others. 8) Thou shalt obey the every-other rule when merging in slow traffic. 9) Thou shalt maintain a reasonable following distance at all times. 10) Thou shalt use high-beams with prudence.
Ok, rattle, you fucked up on a few... so here's my fixes... 1) Thou shalt get the fuck out of MY way. 2) Thou shalt not stay in the left lane when there is open space in the right lane. CQ Today - Senate Gives Up on Immigration Bill |

Efforts to pass an immigration overhaul bill that was the result of months of work by senators, staff and administration officials fell apart Thursday, but party leaders vowed to keep trying.
THANK GOD! (or whatever deity, or other entity, thing, or object you worship) Instead of vowing to "keep trying", how about we simply ENFORCE those laws and strengthen the laws we have in place? I (naively I'm sure), thought that the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY was created to SECURE our HOMELAND. It seems that our Representatives and Senators feel that DHS can't provide that facility, so instead, let's waste more taxpayers $$$ by wasting time on a bill that the American People don't want. It would seem to me that there is a two pronged approach here, that might actually help solve the problem. 1) Take the $$ from DHS and give it to the Border Patrol, and any other Law Enforcement agency that is willing (if the $$ are available) to police our borders and remove the illegals from our cities 2) Modify the current laws, so that any person/company/organization who uses illegal labor is fined heavily. Channel those funds received from fines directly to those organizations who are dedicated to removing the illegals from the country. These two simple ideas, IMHO, would start (and only start) the process of removing the illegals from our soil. If those people who are here illegally wish to come back, they can do it in the same fashion my Great-Grandmother did, when she emigrated from Germany, and how my Mother did, when she emigrated from Canada. Legally. That's my $0.02, YMMV. CQ Today - Senate Gives Up on Immigration Bill |
