This is totally assinine. The real problem here is that we don't have a theory of ethics that adequately accounts for abortion. If abortion is murder, then what is miscarriage? Logically, it would have to be something like involuntary manslaughter. A theory of self-defense might allow late-term abortions even if they were proscribed otherwise. The problem is that this isn't the debate that we're having. The debate we're having is on the level of one about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
