WHEN �Mystery Science Theater 3000� was canceled after 11 seasons in 1999, 146 distraught fans bought a full-page advertisement in Daily Variety urging another network to continue the show. But the series was not revived, and today devotees cannot even tune in to reruns because its premise � a host and his two robot pals mock B movies � required securing those movies� broadcast rights, which expired after the show�s demise.

The Memory Medallion is a small disc, about the size of a half dollar, which is embedded in a monument, memorial or grave marker. Inside the Medallion is a digital memory device that holds a photograph and life story of your loved one.

I walked in the beautiful Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, Ca this morning. It is lovely, 5 generations family owned and old - some headstones date to the late 1800's which is about as old as you get in SoCal.

They don't even have a website, and yet they have this very cool information imbedding system. You borrow a little handheld device and are able to learn more about people than "Beloved Father" by reading data from a small, coin shaped medallion on specific headstones.

The information is disappointingly skimpy at this point - just a black and white photo and a generic obituary but imagine when people will use these to present their Lifelogs - images, blogs, transcripts and full geneological data. People will be telling their stories after death with information captured digitally throughout a lifetime.

Imagine something like this at the Vietnam War Memorial.

Hopefully they are using a technology that will allow continued access in the more distant future.

I have always wondered what this test revealed about someone, in an objective manner. Doesn't look too objective at all. I bet you'd reach the same conclusions holding up magazine ads in from of people.

I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence.

A note about the FSM Holiday season. People keep asking me what the FSM winter holiday is called - Ramendan, Pastamas, etc. Clever (not really), but no. Our winter holiday is named "Holiday", and stretches most of December and January. Consider how much our religion has spread over the last couple years; how many schools and businesses refer not to the "Christmas season", but to the pastafarian "Holiday season" instead? - Strong evidence of our rapid growth. A special thanks goes to Walmart, who rejected the Christian phrase "Merry Christmas" in favor of the Pastafarian greeting "Happy Holidays". We appreciate your support.
