This is funny as hell. I love the closeup of the VCR in the third frame. If Disney did redo the Pirates of the Caribbean ride to have animatronic portrayals of P2P users and overseas DVD duplication labs, I would make the trip to see it. Thats my idea of entertainment. Digital piracy does indeed threaten to overwhelm so-called “content” industries. As the power and reach of the internet continue to grow, the illicit trading of perfect copies may well devastate the music, movie and publishing industries. No, not devestate. Transform. There is a difference, but it is up to the firms to make a choice as to which they want. My stance is to repeal copyright altogether. I think it would be a tremendous boon to humanity to have freely flowing content and ideas. At the very least, it would be a grand experiment. But in the interests of practicality and a smooth(er) transition, at least pull back copyright to something more in line with the shelf life of content. Something like 5 years. A spokesman for West Virginia Sen. Robert Byrd said Monday morning that the top Senate Democrat has told him he never participated in lynchings, cross burnings or other hate crimes against African-Americans while he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1940s. And he insisted that his boss wasn't a racist even during the time he belonged to the anti-black hate group. Sen. Byrd: I Didn't Lynch and Wasn't Racist While in the Klan |

] "An experiment in language and interface, Plumb Design's ] Visual Thesaurus is both an artistic exploration and a ] tool to explore, study, and analyze the structure of ] language. By displaying the interrelationships between ] words and meanings as spatial maps, the Visual Thesaurus ] translates language into a visible architecture. " Type in a word, and you get an artistic representation of how that word is connected to other words, each of which you can click on to see how *they* are connected... A great tool, and a very pleasing visual interface, too. It's neat to see what it attaches to more obscure words, but to really see it blossom like a flower, type in one of those small slippery words such as "do" "have" or "go". Added note: You must have Java installed to see the cool visual effects. Visual Thesaurus |
