Ambassador claims shortly before invasion, Bush didn't know there were two sects of Islam
Topic: International Relations 10:30 am EDT, Aug  8, 2006

Once considered to be Iraq’s worst enemy, Iran has now created, financed and armed the Shiite Islamic movements within southern Iraq. Since the Iraqi Parliamentary elections of 2005, the Shiites have made considerable political gains and now have substantial influence over the country’s U.S.-created military, its police, and the central government in Baghdad. In addition, Iraq is developing economic ties with Iran that Galbraith believes could soon link the two countries’ strategic oil supplies.

That sounds about right. Iraq and Iran have historically been opposed, but a civil war between the Shiites and Sunnis gives a religious edge to this where the Iranians can support the Shiites at basically no cost to themselves. And if we oppose them, we're in opposition to the main group in that "unity government."

Heckuva job Georgie.

Jack, if you’re going to pick up girls from out of town, you could pick a better venue than the Pride parade. That’s all we’re saying.

United Press International - Security & Terrorism - US recalls ambassador to Azerbaijan
Topic: Society 5:07 pm EDT, Apr 23, 2006

As the investigation proceeded, Zarifa Dzhabieva, a former translator for the American embassy was found knifed to death in her own home. Whoever killed Dzhabieva ransacked her dwelling looking for something, even though none of the victim's valuables had been touched. Dzhabieva was under investigation for aiding and abetting the issuing of visas and forged documents to girls destined for the U.S. sex trade.

Wow, this qualifies as completely weird, but after the Homeland Security pedophillia mess, why not a little slavery?

not weird at all it is just that certain dark realities such as the global trade in women for sex rarely breaks the surface and into the light

of course some people will commit murder to protect a lucrative business its a trade old as the hills and far older than the drugs trade

ultimately I believe in the good and the decency of the American people, and they're starting to see what's happening and the lies that have been told. We're seeing this current house of cards start to flutter away. The American people come around. They always do.
