The Aspire one is great for getting things done: whether you're checking your mail, managing your online bank account or chatting with friends, the Aspire one offers a simple, intuitive Linux interface that clearly organizes everything you need to surf, work or simply have fun.
The pre-installed software is separated by functions and presented in 4 distinct areas on the screen - Connect, Works, Fun and Files - that is so simple it's impossible to get confused: the easier it is to get things done, the simpler it is to enjoy life.
The problem with most of these is the odd distros on them. Package management and the other features I've grown to know and are missing at times!
Netbook review roundup: Eee PC 1000H and the Acer Aspire One

PC Magazine has an in-depth look at the Acer Aspire One this week. The magazine gives the little computer high marks for its bright screen, but low marks for its keyboard. The keyboard is a bit larger than the one on an Eee PC 900, but the reviewer says it feels just as cramped.
The Aspire One is at the head of the class when it comes to expandability thanks to its 2 separate memory card readers (one is a dedicated SD card slot that you can use for additional system storage, while the other is a 5-in-1 card reader for transferring files from one computer to another), but comes with less storage than the Eee PC 900/901/1000, the MSI Wind, or the HP Mini-Note. The computer also has a tiny 24Wh hour battery. That’s nearly half the capacity of the 42Wh battery that ships with the Eee PC.
Probably the best part of th ereview is a nifty chart comparing the Aspire One with several other computes. It wins hands down when it comes to price and processor. But Acer is going to have a hard time making the case for the Aspire One once the similarly priced MSI Wind Linux notebook is available.
Elswhere in the mini-laptop world, Laptop Magazine published a complete review of the Eee PC 1000H today. One thing that surprised me was the revelation that the Eee PC 1000H is a bit larger than the MSI Wind Notebook. Both computers hae a 10 inch screen, but the Eee PC is both larger and half a pound heavier at 3.2 pounds. Sure, I probably could have figured those things out by reading the specs, but sometimes you need a real person with real eyes to look at the thing and report how it looks in real life.null
Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time, not to belabor the point: Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation. Palin: I'll try to find you some and bring 'em to ya!
... ... wow. I challenge anyone to watch these interviews and tell me this person is qualified to be The President of the United States.
"Like that vendor's appliance, the Oracle Database Machine offloads SQL query processing and large-table scans to an intelligent storage layer," he wrote. "Whereas Netezza uses a technique that involves field-programmable gate arrays, Oracle has leveraged its 11g technology to parallelize query/scan execution to a massively parallel pool of Exadata storage cells."
Hmmm. this statement seems to imply that Netezza is somehow performing table scans or at least matching criteria using FGPAs inside of storage box. Teradata isn't doing any database operation on the storage box itself. pretty cool.
PC: So Mac, have you played any cool games recently! HAHAHA! Mac: You know just because I have a gaming deficiency doesn;t make me less of a computer! PC: Want to play mine sweeper! HA!
PC: Hey, what you doing? Mac: Oh nothing, Just forwarding you an email. You should check out the attachment! PC: Ohhhh! I hope its fun! ... ... ... [COUGH COUGH COUGH] ... [error dialog]

The Electronic Frontier Foundation has filed suit against the NSA, President Bush and Vice President Cheney on behalf of AT&T's customers to fight illegal wiretapping.
I know this is totally beside the point, but don't you wish that this actually was the NSA logo?
