] Windows could trap the sun's energy to heat hot water. ] Sensors that measure the carbon dioxide exhaled by people ] in a room could determine whether the air conditioning ] needs to be turned up. This is Janelane's area of expertise, and has gotten my interest in recent months. Its foolish to think capturing more oil reserves or discovering a new energy source is a sustainable way to live. We need to not only reduce consumption, but make what we use much more energy effecient. So many processes we depend on (ie internal compustion engine) lose so much energy in heat, that even a few percentage points of improvement will drastically change things for us. ]Google Desktop Search might just be too good. Using the new ]software, I was able to bypass user names and passwords that ]secure Web-based e-mail programs and view personal messages sent ]and received on public PCs. ]Using Google's new software on a shared computer at the Google ]booth at the Digital Life trade show floor I was able to easily ]search for, find, and read private Yahoo e-mail sent on the ]computer by previous users earlier in the day. ]Marissa Mayer, Google's director of consumer Web products, told ]me she wasn't surprised. "This is not a bug, rather a feature," ]she says. Google always intended people to be able to index and ]search Web-based e-mail viewed and composed on PC, she says. ]Google Desktop Search is not intended to be used on computers ]that are shared with more than one person, she say. She specifically said it was not intended for shared computers. Hmmm, It been years since I checked, but back in the day Office used to do this index feature called "Find Fast" for Office documents. Most everyone disabled it because it killed what was already terrible hard drive performance. I wondering if these index files are world-visible, and if new versions for office do it. 4Access Communcations (http://www.4access-comm.com/), an innovative company who builds Point of Sale devices running Linux, have entered into an agreement with me to license the Parsing and Database technology of Stripe Snoop. They will fund porting this functionality of Stripe Snoop to a linkable library running on uClinux. Under the terms of the negotiated contract, I retain full ownership and copyright to Stripe Snoop, and the ported library. This library will be released under the LGPL, for 4Access Communcations, and everyone elses, use, both commerical and non-commerical. Further, I am funded to write a program to read from a magstripe device (/dev/msr), and demonstrate how the library is used. Under the terms of the contract, this program will be released under the GPL. |

] Someone's trying to tell us something, maybe this is God ] just saying ] we're responsible for this monster, this coward, that we ] have empowered ] This is Bin Laden, look at his head nodding, ] How could we allow something like this, Without pumping ] our fist ] Now this is our, final hour ] Let me be the voice, and your strength, and your choice ] Let me simplify the rhyme, just to amplify the noise ] Try to amplify the times it, and multiply it by six ] Teen million people are equal of this high pitch ] Maybe we can reach Al Quaida through my speech ] Let the President answer on high anarchy ] Strap him with AK-47, let him go ] Fight his own war, let him impress daddy that way ] No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on ] our soil ] No more psychological warfare to trick us to think that ] we ain't loyal ] If we don't serve our own country we're patronizing a ] hero Well said. I am getting very tired of people equating Anti-Bush with Anti-Troops or Anti-American. About the most American thing we can do is actively question our leadship. Eminem - Mosh Song Lyrics |
