] We started wearing clothes about 70,000 years ago - at least ] according to our lice genes. ] At that time the body louse (Pediculus humanus humanus) evolved ] from the head louse (P. humanus capitis), say Mark Stoneking and ] his colleagues at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary ] Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany. The split should correspond to ] the time when the body louse's habitat - clothes - became ] widespread. Lice genes date first human clothes |

] Scientists in China have, for the first time, used ] cloning techniques to create hybrid embryos that contain ] a mix of DNA from both humans and rabbits, according to a ] report in a scientific journal that has reignited the ] smoldering ethics debate over cloning research. Even though they claim most of the rabbit DNA was removed prior to the fusing, how valid of a test cell would these actually be? Without having 100% of the qualities of a normal cell how could we actually use these and get reliable results? Cloning Yields Human-Rabbit Hybrid Embryo (washingtonpost.com) |

Just caught this one in my inbox.. Psyiode has started up a site to keep track of the Blackboard case. Its important to note that Psyiode has no connection to Acidus, Virgil, or any of the Interz0ne con staff. Blackboard may decide to come after him too. I like the domain. :) www.fuckblackboard.com |

Holographic displays, I want one... |

] Artificial three dimensional visualisation is existing for long ] time. It is holography. This invention set the minimum ] requirements for 3D visualisation. Viewers should see a 3D image ] on the screen, as they would see in reality. Systems that cause ] any discomfort or restrain the viewer will not be broadly ] accepted. Several announcements were made about the invention of ] the ultimate 3D display but none of these are "true" 3D display ] solutions, since none of them comply with all the following ] criteria: not sure how much is BS, but I want one... The design and strength of all key lengths of the AES algorithm (i.e., 128, 192 and 256) are sufficient to protect classified information up to the SECRET level. TOP SECRET information will require use of either the 192 or 256 key lengths. This essentially means that AES as at least as good as the algorithms the NSA develops for this purpose. Very impressive.
