Rock duo in school of mock

] The well-fed rockers of Tenacious D went on a 45-day
] hunger strike yesterday.

] They were tenacious enough to last about an hour.

] A comic-rock duo featuring actor Jack Black, Tenacious D
] has earned a hard-core following of fans ravenous for
] their anthems invoking the themes and lingo of heavy
] metal.
]
] Yesterday, Black and partner Kyle Gass pledged a gesture
] as grand as their music, saying they would starve
] themselves while dangling above Times Square for 45 days
] - or until their new DVD sold 1 million copies.
]
] "Kyle is going to bring a guitar, and if we need extra
] nourishment, we will live off the power of each other's
] rock," Black said. I love these guys. |

] I love these guys. If you haven't seen The School of Rock, I highly encourage you to partake. If for no other reason, because Jack is funny. But more importantly, it's the realization that teaching kids about music and the power that it has will lead them to learn about a lot of other important things. Plus the kid playing drums is a dead ringer for me when I was 10. |
