I will never understand it. Whenever the Pixies come ] up, the first band mentioned after is The Breeders. Rock n' ] Roll dies a little more every time this happens. Well, the reason i mentioned the Breeders is less because of the pixies tie in than because they're the most recent "band i used to like and never saw in their prime, but OH SWEET THEY'RE BACK ON TOUR" experience i've had (not that there are many). I certainly think the pixies are more relevant than the breeders, but both were pretty influential, and informed my development as a young music lover. ] FB has been producing very solid material, non-stop, since the ] Pixies broke up.. The Breeders is _not_ where the lions share ] of the song writing talent in that band went. This is undoubtedly true. I can't say i've listened to much of his recent stuff, though i know he's been making quite a lot. Every so often i try it out on the sample station in the record store and quickly remember that there are already a few records on the list in my wallet that i've been meaning to buy. Frank Black just never makes it up the list. ] This is going to be good.. I certainly *hope* so... i was just being cynical really. Maybe frank can pull it off... To be 100% honest, my going to see this show will depend largely on how much tickets cost. I rarely spend more than 10 bucks for a show these days, unless it's really special, which this certainly would qualify as. But if they roll through and expect 25 or 30 bucks for a ticket, well, sorry, i can buy 3 or 4 records at the used shop for that and get a lot more from it.
