"Ford Motor Co. will celebrate the 10th year of the Mustang Cobra today by unveiling the 2003 SVT Mustang Cobra, a high-performance specialty vehicle that produces the most horsepower ever for a factory-built Mustang. This version of the Cobra has a 4.6-liter, dual-overhead cam V8 engine that produces 390 horsepower, up from 320 horsepower for the 2001 model. A Mustang GT, by comparison, produces roughly 260 horsepower. "

Ford temporarily stops production of Cobra due to engine problems

I found this at AutoWeek:

Ford has temporarily stopped production of the 2003 SVT Cobra due to quality concerns.

Ford officials are mum on whats wrong with the supercharged Mustangs, but assembly plant sources told media that the problem originates with the 4.6-liter V8.

Ford aims to resume production Nov. 15 and will begin delivering finished Cobras that were held back because of the snafu.
