As an interesting aside, NASAWatch posted a link to the POES group's briefing slides for their ISO 9000 Audit at http://poes.gsfc.nasa.gov/iso/GSFC-QMS_Training_Jul_2003.pdf that has a very interesting siege-mentality mindset... And has since been removed. The highlights posted on NASAWatch....

Don't be afraid to say, "I don't know, but I'll find out"
Don't volunteer information not asked for
Don't act like the auditor is wasting your time
Don't guess or bluff our answer
Don't criticize coworkers or the Center
Don't argue with the auditor
Don't say you don't follow procedures because ... you don't have time, or can't be done that way
