Or at least a possibility they are exploring. They have aquired SCO's System V for linux, which the link says allows linux to run SCO apps. They can now develop their apps for linux, but have them require the SCO System V stuff, so everyone will be forced to run M$ software over their freeware Linux/GNU OS, if they want Microsoft software on their Linux PC. They can make Microsoft linux with SCO System V for linux highly interoperable with all the new closed protocols (.net, whatever) they are doing, but only with SCO System V for Linux.
