Speaking of debates, I think we need to have one about the academic value of spending so much time thinking deeply about Weezer. I doubt that even Weezer spends this much time thinking about Weezer. Back in the day, (that is, the late 1990's), I saw Weezer at the Masquerade. It was a good show. After that tour I mostly tuned them out. During their 2001 tour, I went to see their live show, and despite my lowered expectations, I was rather underwhelmed. What happened?
