This may not be such a bad thing. AM radio waves have been shown to greatly disturb the sleeping habits of metal squirrels. Hikers have described graphite bears flailing around in enraged confusion, posing a substantial risk to humans in addition to becoming too stressed to successfully mate. The population of mercury snails has been declining in the US since 1947, and they are now critically endangered.

In short, most of our wild fauna comprised of sheet metal now face a serious threat of extinction. The AM radio industry, a powerful lobby that controls most of congress, needs to either properly shield our wildlife reserves with Faraday cages our shut down their disruptive and dangerous signal.

In the meantime, classical electrodynamics does actually show that we can gain some protection from tin foil hats.
