Perhaps you missed the month where they went to all the netbook manufacturers and "made them an offer they couldn't refuse" which resulted in all the Linux-driven netbooks (and their lower price point) disappearing from stores in the space of a week.

Once they've got every netbook on the market shipping with Windows, then comes the time to see how far they can raise the price before vendors start talking about going back to shipping Linux.
