as much as I hate to admit this, today's tech worker is nothing more than 1910's factory worker. The only difference is that we have a comparably higher wage and benefits set than the factory worker did back then. It took until the 60's before their wages and benefits would be comparable. But by then, they had union representation, controlled systems, standards based skills appraisal, and even better working conditions.
