As an ex-Brit, I’m well aware of the authorities’ love of surveillance and snooping, but even I, a pessimistic cynic, am amazed by the governments latest plan: to install Orwell’s telescreens in 20,000 homes.

i don't trust this story -- the article as proof links to a Daily Express article and just because the Daily Express says something doesn't make it a fact -- beware flamebait
I'd like to see more evidence that this is actually planned first
do you really think the BBC wouldn't pick up on this if it was planned?

They probably tuck their viewers into bed out of concern for their well being and to see which products they buy.
