Just think what will happen when .Net services are employed, and it's all that infrastructure that belongs to someone else that you're relying on.

Methinks we're simply not ready for all this stuff. We keep advancing the 'state of the art' but have done nothing to really bulletproof what we already have. The evolution of the computing industry is at odds with itself. That's usually a recipe for disaster.
