They removed the video - good probably, I wanted to but didn't need to see that.

What torture, don't you think?

Still I've always thought it could be possible. In theory it should be, if consciousness resides only in the brain, it makes sense to me to keep the brain alive would be a way to preserve consciousness.

But there are issues such as thermoregulation - I'd think that it would take the hypothallumus no time at all to just go tea totally haywire with such things as temperature, oxygen, and even basic chemistry fluctuations, not to mention the more exquisite ones such as neurotransmitter balance and regulation.
It seems to me that to really extend life in this manner your autoinjector would have to be very intelligently designed and perhaps even capable of interactive adjustment.

And what on earth would the cerebellum do? Would massive seizures break out? and if they did, what exactly would happen? Would the brain just fry itself from increased temperature?

It is so ...neat...to think about on one hand...but so ethically repugnant to experiment with on the other hand, and in the THINKING head.
