This says it all in the article:

Powell took the opposite view. He applauded the broadband decision as promoting investment in new networks, but called the phone competition ruling a "molten morass of regulatory activity" filled with legal errors that will ultimately doom the measure.

I think I have changed my opinion of Michael now. It appears that a lot of the crappy things the FCC has done over the last few years with him at the helm might not have been his fault. If the rest of the commissioners are this brain dead that they could get EVERY SINGLE ISSUE completely WRONG, then he might not have the clout to overrule them.

I disagree with him on the access to future networks issue (why should that not be unbundled as well?) but it's obvious that he realizes just how stupid the rest of the commission is and is finally letting the nation know that it's not him that's causing all the pain and suffering.

I didn't think the decision could get more idiotic until they said that they were basically washing their hands of the problems and letting the states deal with it. Yes, let's finish this ream job with a BIG FUCK YOU at the end! HURRAH!
