Why? They have the kid in custody. They have his equipment. He's probably not permitted to talk to anyone. If he *was* part of a plot (does that make him an enemy combatant?), he's now been isolated and removed from contact with his cohorts. I can't see why the authorities would feel any reason to speed any part of the investigation along.
