Would the new icon be: a. A graph trending down b. A stock broker jumping through a 50th story window c. A mob of congressional committee members lynching Richard Fuld ?? |

b. A stock broker jumping through a 50th story window
This one is void. I'm pissed about this, actually. The idea that stock brokers should jump out of windows when the market crashes is so ingrained in our heads that we make jokes about it... But it's not happening! When are the plebes on Wall St going to start flying? I'm always watching the news. I've got a TV in my office. I've been WAITING for it. It's way overdue. Until there is a splatter on a sidewalk somewhere south of Canal, any invocation of the stock-brokers-jumping-from-windows meme is rendered void. I'd settle for some boomer who just concluded he can't retire for another 12 years. Thud. Then we could declare we've hit the bottom, and move on. |
