There actually are islamic groups who use precisely that sort of rhetoric in the context of repelling foreign invaders! Whats racist about using that exact same rhetoric in a different setting? There is absolutely nothing about what I wrote that makes any sort of generalization about muslims whatsoever! I think you are making a huge leap of logic there.

You mean like Karl Rove Rapping? Its uncouth for a public official to be that silly in public but I certainly don't take it to imply that all black people act like gangsters or something.
maybe I am being an arse since as I said it is a question of taste and comfort zones or even sensibilities -- I know plenty of people who would crack the exact same joke -- it was an honest response , overly sensitive perhaps but honest
humour and stereotypes are an inflammatory combination and what might be deemed tasteful is a minefield of intention, misunderstanding and the discourse of representation -- and almost always the person who complains comes off looking like a prick with no sense of humour 8-)
I'm Polish, so I get a free pass to use whatever race loaded humor I want. =P
