JoVE Browse:Global Search for: Marie Cross Maureen Powers

Just in case anyone is interested in learning a bit about what I do at work, here are some video journal articles I did for JOVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments). Its kind of a neat concept - JOVE has teamed up with Current Protocols in Cell Biology to film complex protocols. This is helpful for people in the scientific field who need to pick up a new technique for their research. With these movies, a person who is unfamiliar with a certain technique (for example, Xenopus egg extract) can watch these films while reading the protocols to learn how to do certain things.

Anyway, enjoy!

Thanks...they came out pretty good (although you can see the patented Marie smirk in a couple of scenes, which is amusing people I work with).

So who did the voice overs? I assume you guys wrote the scripts?

For some reason I find the concept of storing frogs at a density of "one frog per liter" totally hillarious. Its a frog solution!

I think the guy who created JOVE did the voice overs...not entirely certain, but it sure sounds like him. Maureen and another scientist had written the protocol for Current protocols in cell biology a few years back...thats the "script" he is reading. You are right though....one frog per liter...its very molar!

Man, for a second there I thought Marie had changed her last name to "Powers." Just like Homer Simpson as Max Power.

... [sigh]...

that would have been so cool...
