In Life, as in Baseball, Getting Fired Is an Opening for a Comeback - NYTimes.com by janelane at 8:41 am EDT, Jun 18, 2008 |
There were those who said the Mets had plenty of reasons to part company with Mr. Randolph — 35 reasons this season (the number of games the Mets had lost). The team was tied with the Atlanta Braves for third place in the National League East, 6 ½ games out of first. The Mets were just under .500 for the season, having won 34 games.
So, does this mean the Braves should be hunting for a new manager? -janelane |

No. Bobby Cox has run the most successful franchise in the game for the last 15+ years. The fact that they didn't win their division the last two years means squat. He's still as good or better than anyone they could replace him with. The only person I know of who would fire someone with that kind of record for their team is Steinbrenner. |
