Now you can see what gas prices are around the country at a glance. Areas are color coded according to their price for the average price for regular unleaded gasoline.

ok for comparison
the current uk price from the automobile association site gives a price for April 2008 of 113.3p per litre so as 1 litre is 0.22 gallons so a gallon is in pounds £5.15 which according to here is $10.15 per gallon

so looking at the prices you are paying I can't say I'm too gutted for you

I realize the price rise is a shock to many Americans but high petrol/gas prices are something Europeans have lived with for years so your complaining doesn't generate a lot of sympathy on this side of the Atlantic

[ The most striking thing I see here is that the darkest "green", the *lowest* average, displayed on this map is still set at < $3.55!

Growing up in New York, I was accustomed to high gas prices and found the sub $2.00 prices here in GA when I moved (in 2000) to be quite amazing. To think that the lowest average is well over $3 in the US is pretty incredible. -k ]
