Human memory: memory chip could mean we never forget

How much would you pay to have a small memory chip implanted in your brain if it guaranteed you would never again forget a face or a name?

I wonder how intellectual property will apply to this

That's a good question... The only bar you have to get over to have a copyright on something is for it to be "fixated in a tangible medium". That limit exists so that you can't claim copyright on something in your head. However, when the thing that records it is a tangible medium, that can be removed from your head, all bets are probably off.

If something only needs to be seen/heard once and it gets recorded perfectly in ones own mind, why would someone bother buying a DVD when the theater experience is still fresh in your mind.
