Excellent. I love this stuff. There was a fantastic exhibit of similar art and content in Detroit a couple of years ago at the public library. What's really amazing about these pictures is how much they've been implemented. If you look at the first city scape, it's VERY similar to downtown Detroit. The buildings look a lot like the Renaissance Center, which is now the world HQ of GM. Even the side buildings and street design are very similar to the Hart Plaza area. If you look at the tiered road/walk ways, it's very reminiscent of Wacker in Chicago. All of this isn't too surprising when you consider how much influence GM probably yielded back then on civil engineering, policy, and design. The Interstate system was heavily lobbied for by the auto industry (duh!). If you think about the other exhibits at this fair, how much of the rest of the 20th century was influenced by this one collective?! Has there been a single confab that's yielded so much influence?
