Yeah, pretty depressing, isn't it? It's like Hollywood gets complacent because they know they can make their money back just because of the franchise itself.

It's sad for me, because I know they could have done so much better. We need some more indie sci-fi action. I think the genre has been beaten to death by Hollywood and TV now.

Did you see Dog Soldiers? It only got 7.1 on IMdb, but I enjoyed it. Definitely scared me. Of course, I'm a total wimp when it comes to horror movies. The soldier's are pretty funny some times too. Especially when they start rattling off English slang and you're like "Huh? What did he say???" [Quadrophenia flashback...]
