Why force his previous thoughts to be posted publicly? It seems obvious that one might reconsider the tact with which one made a hastily crafted blog post calling out a foolish statement by the upper management of one's own company. Its a shame but large companies are full of people who can only tell the difference between right and wrong by looking at the rank of the person making the statement. Many people have faced political pressure or job loss for flippant comments made in blogs, even when they were in the right. MemeStreams is a public forum, and people are allowed to edit their posts here because the Internet makes it easy to put your foot in your mouth. If we hold every blogger to the standard that we hold CTOs in formal press communications, our online discourse will be significantly diminished, I think.
