Welcome to radio in the age of the internet. It's been happening for years in markets across the country. 99x hasn't been much use to me for years... it's a generally (though not universally) safe bet while in the car during those times when DaveFM is playing some jam band shite and the college stations too busy with a basketball game or random noises. It wasn't video that killed radio, but ubiquitous digital media. I'm sure there are proponents of Sirius and XM (and maybe even HDRadio) here that are ready to argue the matter, but they don't really float my boat either. If the goddamn royalty rates don't kill online radio, that will finally be my main source for hearing new stuff. That and "All Songs Considered". RE: 99X - Everything No Longer Alternative |
