Security Dynamics (RSA) put out these ACE tokens that were "credit card sized" which broke almost immediately if you sat on them. What's the point of that? I always bought the key fobs for my customers instead. Of course, some day the wallet will disappear. The technology is available now, but the infrastructure is not. When this happens, credit card sized devices will be annoying for men, although probably still space savers in a woman's purse. I think at this point the target will be keyfob sized. Your key ring will never go away. Biometrics are neither secure nor are they cost effective, and they come with nasty privacy implications. Your keys will all be replaced by one key which is round instead of pointy and sharp. You'll still keep in on a key ring because otherwise it will fall out of your pocket. Now, the big question is, will they come up with a technology that can eliminate the woman's purse.... hrm.... :) RE: MDN: Photo Journal |
