My mother once...in a pinch...put my dad's 13EEE Nike Air's into the microwave. Dad was a runner and on his way to the gym and his shoes were wet and she forgot to dry them.

So into the microwave...one pair of Nike 13EEE shoes, circa 1985....

BOOM! Those shoes exploded and tore the door right off the microwave. No more microwave. No more shoes either.
