Memestreams enabled phone for real world (live) social blogging?
The killer utility for the mobile phone, much like anything else we are using these days, is the web browser. So making MemeStreams really mobile aware, comes down to having ways to easily make posts that use whatever the mobile platform gives you. This comes down to a really basic subset of things... Stuff like posting pictures and sharing contact information. I'm interested in whatever hooks the browsers on these devices provide to access device capabilities. I'd like to think that functions like linking to a geographical location and pulling up a map with directions would be easy. As far as security issues go, it's going to be a hell of a playground. I'm going to have to give Android a good look over.. The mechanics of how the trust relationship between the device and a web app work is key. It's possible to come up with a really good way to do it. Google is all about the webapp. Acidus should look at this stuff. When I see what can be done with ajax, and I see the iPhone browser, it looks like almost everything I can think of that's necessary to build a great social mobile platform.. There is no reason phone webapps shouldn't be able to function perfectly across multiple platforms. If the mobile service/phone companies screw this one up, then it's time to just burn them to the ground and start over with mesh networks or cans and strings or something....
