This is sad as hell. This ferry departs from directly across the river from my house. There's quite a few ferries that leave from New London, and they go to about 4 or 5 different places. I watch them leave from my kitchen window all the time, hear them blow their horns upon leaving... I can't believe something like this happened, it's so sad.
