Turkish parliament approves Iraq incursion request - Yahoo! News by Mike the Usurper at 4:18 pm EDT, Oct 17, 2007 |
Turkey's parliament approved by a large majority on Wednesday a government request to allow troops to cross into northern Iraq to crush Kurdish rebels based there.
It's over. The second that Turkey actually crosses the border any hope of a good resolution in the Mid-East ends. The only area in Iraq that is currently not a shooting gallery is the Kurdish north. That will change with a Turkish incursion. The majority of US supplies currently come through Turkey, and with that move simply getting the food, fuel and bullets in turns into a train wreck. It also does something that has been on a back burner since 2003, it expands Iraq into a regional war. Welcome to Hell. |

i disagree bad though it undoubtedly is i think it would shape into something like a temporary and limited incursion like the recent one of Israel into Lebanon however the habit of cross border incursions chasing terrorists is a dangerously growing phenomenon it isn't Hell but it's certainly on the road map there we ignore violations of sovereignty at our peril -- the invasion of Iraq makes having the US (and the British) argue this case v difficult |

Turkish parliament approves Iraq incursion request - Yahoo! News by I Love Lamp at 9:49 am EDT, Oct 18, 2007 |
Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has played down expectations of an imminent offensive, but the parliamentary approval provides the legal basis for NATO's second biggest army to cross the mountainous border as and when it sees fit.
Yeah, this is not good. WWIII is gonna ROCK! |
