"This team suffering is due to a lack of corporate support," said Bettman, adding that more individuals own season tickets than corporations in Nashville, which he said is unique among NHL cities. Step-up a represent, corporate TN! Damn it! Red neck racing and Football suck... *vent*
I think most of the Pred's problems with corporate support can be traced back to one man. Steve Violetta is not widely liked around town and probably needs to go if the team is going to get a fresh start with corporate sponsors. Provided that Poile puts together as good or better team as what we had this past season (AND the absolute necessity of getting past the first round of the playoffs next season), we shouldn't have a problem hitting the 14K attendance number, thus resetting the clock for another three seasons (two to count, an additional one before they can leave). Frankly, I think Basillie bought the team because it has a high likelihood of winning the Cup at a very attractive price point and it has the best revenue deal in the league. Moving it would jeopardize a lot of that and I can guarantee that no other city is going to give that team a better deal. RE: Bettman: Predators staying in Nashville |
