Patent reform bill may have a chance by bucy at 10:08 pm EDT, Apr 18, 2007 |
A bipartisan group of senators and House members introduced legislation Wednesday that would make the biggest changes to the U.S. patent system in over 50 years.
I'm not holding my breath but this sounds promising... |

Sounds bad to me. First to file means lawyers beat engineers. You invent it, you deploy it, someone weathly invents it, they patent it, they sue you, and they win. Reform is needed, but all we're going to get out of Congress is likely to be crooked crap that makes their donators happy. Congress does not actually have the foresight to do something that actually helps innovation. |

I'm not holding my breath but this sounds promising... [I dunno... i want to read the whole thing, but my gut reaction is that this doesn't sound appealing to me. As much as I think the PTO needs reform, i'm not sure this is it... -k] |
