Gunman in massacre contacted NBC News by k at 8:35 pm EDT, Apr 18, 2007 |
Sometime after he killed two people in a Virginia university dormitory but before he slaughtered 30 more in a classroom building, Cho Seung-Hui mailed NBC News a large package including photographs and videos Monday morning, boasting, “When the time came, I did it. I had to.” The package included an 1,800-word manifesto-like statement diatribe in which Cho expresses rage, resentment and a desire to get even. The material does not include any images of the shootings Monday, but it does contain vague references. And it mentions “martyrs like Eric and Dylan” — apparently a reference to Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold... The material is deeply angry, crying out against unspecified wrongs done to him in a diatribe laced with profanity. “I didn’t have to do this. I could have left. I could have fled. But no, I will no longer run. It’s not for me. For my children, for my brothers and sisters that you f---, I did it for them,” Cho says on one of the videos.
Whow... [Wow indeed. Fucking raving lunatic jackass. -k] |

Really annoying that they don't make the whole manifesto available. It seems that he wasn't very good at stringing together coherent thoughts, viewing them out of context is pretty irritating. It's also somewhat ironic that there's a sound off page for his diatribe (which no ones allowed to read). I could understand if maybe this was with held to catch a criminal, but the asshole is dead. If they're as overblown as the retarded scripts i'm going to be even more annoyed. |

[Oh, don't worry, I'm sure some assholes somewhere will manage to profit from the eventual release of the complete materials, just as the news networks are profiting presently from the slow trickle they're doling out. Of course, there'll also be a made for TV movie at some point. Right now everyone will say "Perish the thought! How crass!" but they said the same thing about 9/11 and sure enough, movies were made. I imagine the book "Anatomy of a Tragedy : The Broken Mind of Cho Seung-Hui" won't be far behind. -k] |

You're probably right. Although i'm not sure about the movie. The guy seems too silly to make a movie without making it a slapstick comedy. Somehow, I don't think hollywood would go for that. |

Are people catching that what they are showing us is heavily edited? They say he is blaming Jesus Christ? Yet it seems to me his is delusional somewhat that he IS Jesus Christ. Oh Jesus Christ. They say LAW ENFORCEMENT doesn't want us to see them - apologized for us HAVING to see them. Ok, maybe don't plaster them all over the tv, but make them available. We know they are there in the media's hands. Why hide them? Why only show us what you want us to see? What someone thinks is SAFE for us? Doesn't make sense. So much doesn't make sense. I can't for the life of me figure out why he didn't upload at least some of his material to Youtube. |
