Science is slow by Dr. Nanochick at 7:00 pm EST, Jan 30, 2007 |
I am in the lab....finishing up my experiment for the day. But I realize that 1) If every experiment worked correctly the first time, and I didn't have to trouble shoot, and 2) If incubation times were eliminated I would be Dr. Cross instead of just Miss. Cross by now. Sometimes waiting is just so terribly painful. Anyway, I guess I should be reading www.pubmed.com instead of www.memestreams.net, but I just can't help myself. And I am learning here too....learning that Acidus has very interesting taste in car music:) |

I'm spending the week debugging a query that takes 25 minutes to run, if successful, and 5 minutes to run if not. I empathize. |

It's only going to make that doctorate that much more sweet when you get it. You will have worked that much harder for it. The delays are not because you are slacking, they are because you are doing it the right way. I find it inspiring. I can't wait to call you Dr. Cross. We are going to have to have a little virtual ceremony for you. When you do graduate, be sure to get a picture of you in your graduation gown and all that. We will even put the Dr. before your nickname on MemeStreams for you, rather than letting you do it yourself.. :) That way it comes with the feeling of being bestowed upon you. :) |
