I'd like to see this same graphic overlaid with the murder rate for each sector. "Military" casualties excluded of course. Just capita murder rate. I would expect to see an interesting corollary.
Great comment.. The dots for Latin America and Eastern Europe would grow bigger. So would Emerging Asia, depending on how you defined it.. And does Eastern Europe include all the former Soviet Republics and Central Asia? The US would grow, but not necessarily as much as some might think. It would still be very big. I'm pretty sure this could be graphically displayed in roughly the same way using two different colors for the circles, with the outer ring being murder rate per-capita.
