By the looks of the volume of the response, I'd say we are stupid. Or at least the right is so gleeful at the opportunity to roast a Democrat that they couldn't care less whether or not its reasonable or how silly they look to anyone who isn't drinking their koolaid. I, for one, don’t think we’re that stupid. Next Tuesday we’ll see.
I don't see what next Tuesday has to do with anything. The opportunity to send the adminisitration a message was last election. The American people failed to do that. Voting democrat this election because you don't like our policy in Iraq is like refusing to take taxi cabs because you're pissed off at the airlines. Should it bother me that I am warming to Keith Olbermann's special comments?
What should bother you is that these guys have successfully divided the country in two. Self styled conservatives hate liberals. Liberals are responsible for our problems. Democrats don't want to fight terrorism. They hate America and they want the terrorists to win. The partisan divisivness has reached a level where it is ripe pickings for a totalitarian. Its a gapping weakness, and someone will find a way to exploit it. RE: Insulting Our Troops, and Our Intelligence | Tom Friedman |
