A record producer's plans to turn the historic Medical Arts building into a 140-room boutique hotel have fallen through.

The 12-story building, which was built 78 years ago but has been vacant since the mid-1990s, is located just a few blocks from the site of the $200 million Georgia Aquarium and would also be within walking distance of parts of both downtown and Midtown.

This building is the nearest one to my condo building. It has been vacant for a long time. Buildings are going up all around it, but it remains vacant.
