ePolitix.com - WW1 soldiers to receive pardons

The government is to seek parliamentary approval for the pardoning of more than 300 World War One soldiers executed for military offences.

Many of those who were executed are now thought to have been suffering from 'shell shock' when they refused to fight.

They do things like this, but it doesn't stop this from coming up again in the future. The US has formally acknowledged that the internment of Japaneese people was wrong, and yet you still hear pissed off right wingers exclaim that this sort of stuff is A-OK because we did it before.
