I know I'm on to something good...
by Acidus at 12:16 am EST, Feb 24, 2006

..when I talk with Decius and he simply replies:

"Billy, whatever you are planning here, it should never get released. EVER."

You need to know how to destory the Internet to make it better.

You need to know how to destory the Internet to make it better.

But you don't have to destroy it to make it better, just point out the vulnerabilities in it, unless you really enjoy destroying it which is really interesting.

There's no glory in destruction.

If I could destroy the Internet, I'd not even be tempted.

I could destroy my own hard drive right now, but why would I want to do that? Because I can? No, all that sounds like a lot of work to build it back. The difference is - I'd have to do the work and it would ONLY matter to ME.

There are some that enjoy watching others scramble to build back and repair the holes they ripped in systems that matter to a good many people.

There's the proper way to release something. Keeping it to yourself isn't that wise either. It could be stolen, or worse yet, folks a lot worse than you might also stumble on it.

One of the biggest mistakes a very smart person can make it to think that no one else is AS smart.

Hmmmm...anyway, those are my thoughts on release of vulnerabilities.
